Learn to write prompts – or buy ready-made ones?

Learning to write prompts is not rocket science – it follows a simple formula. Still, buying sometimes pays off. Here you get both: the basics and the honest decision aid.

The formula

A good prompt has five parts:

1. Role – who should the AI be? ("You are a tax advisor.")
2. Context – background and audience.
3. Task – what exactly should be produced?
4. Format – length, structure, tone.
5. Example – a sample for orientation.

Step by step to your first good prompt

Start small: state the task in one sentence, add role and format, test the result and refine ("shorter", "more concrete", "with an example"). After three or four rounds you'll have a prompt that delivers reliably.

Common mistakes – and quick fixes

• Too general → add role and format.
• Too much at once → break into sub-tasks.
• No example → give a sample for the AI to follow.

When buying is faster
